Closing a successful year of 2024 in investment, PetroVietnam Transportation Corporation (PVTrans) has just received another bulk carrier named PVT Peridot on December 12, 2024 in Japan.
Bulk carrier PVT Peridot was built in January 2013, with a capacity of 57,300 DWT, fully meeting modern technical standards and strict international maritime safety requirements. Immediately after receiving, the ship was put into operation, contributing to expanding PVTrans’ transport capacity.
In 2024, PVTrans and its member units successfully invested in 08 new vessels, including product oil tankers, chemical tankers, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tankers and bulk carriers. The diversification of vessel types demonstrates the strategic vision of PVTrans’s leadership in promptly meeting market demand while maintaining a reasonable balance in the fleet structure to minimize the risk of fluctuations in each transport segment and optimize operational efficiency. PVTrans’s fleet has now reached 58 vessels with a total tonnage of more than 1.6 million DWT, of which more than 85% of the fleet is operating on international shipping routes, reaching high-demand markets such as Europe and North America.
The receipt of PVT Peridot continues to strengthen PVTrans’s strategy of expanding and rejuvenating its fleet. In addition to the goal of expanding its transport capacity, PVTrans always considers sustainable development as one of its key tasks, prioritizing investment in young vessels with modern technology, helping to optimize operational efficiency, reduce fuel consumption and emissions. These efforts help improve service quality, meet strict international standards and affirm PVTrans‘ leading position in the field of maritime transport, creating solid trust with shareholders, customers and partners, while actively contributing to the goal of sustainable development.
