Continuing to realize the strategy of expanding the fleet, on November 21, in Singapore, PetroVietnam Transportation Corporation (PVTrans) successfully received the oil tanker named PVT Nova from the US shipowner.
This event not only demonstrates PVTrans’s efforts to complete its 2025 investment plan in the context of a volatile maritime transport market, but also continues to affirm the Corporation’s No. 1 position in the Vietnamese maritime transport market with an increasingly large and modern fleet.

PVT Nova, was built in Japan in 2011, is a 47,980 DWT MR tanker with a modern design and good technical quality, fully meeting the safety, environmental and operational standards of the international maritime industry. Immediately after receiving it, the PVT Nova was put into Maersk Pool – one of the world’s leading pools for transporting oil for exploitation in the international market. This is the 6th ship that PVTrans has successfully received in 2025, increasing the size of the Corporation’s existing fleet to 64 ships with a total tonnage of over 1.9 million DWT.
The successful investment and receipt of PVT Nova vessel is an important piece in the sustainable growth picture of PVTrans with the goal of expanding scale, improving asset quality and meeting green maritime standards. This is the core key for PVTrans to continue optimizing business efficiency, maintaining a strong financial foundation and realizing the commitment to increase value for shareholders and partners.
