Implementing the Resolution of the Board of Directors of the Company on investing in improving fleet capacity, on around 6:08 p.m (Vietnam time) November 13, 2024, at Mersin Port – Türkiye, Hai An Transport and Stevedoring Joint Stock Company has signed and successfully received the MV. TORO container ship from partner Lamda SeaTrading S.A of Liberia.
After completing the handover procedures, MV. TORO was renamed MV. HAIAN GAMA, flying the Panamanian flag. The HAIAN GAMA became the 16th ship in Hai An’s fleet, increasing its total carrying capacity to 26,500 TEU. This is a container ship with a superior carrying capacity compared to ships in the current fleet of Hai An and Vietnam, with a carrying capacity of 3,500 TEU
HAIAN GAMA – IMO number: 9322516, length 222.52m, width 32.26m, draft 12m, maximum speed 20 knots,GRT 35,573 RT and DWT 44,164 MT was built in 2007 at Hanjin Heavy Industries Company – Korea.
The 3,500 TEU ship investment deal is part of the Company’s long-term development strategy, to meet the increasing demand for maritime transport, helping to increase transport capacity while improving service quality. Accordingly in the coming time, Hai An Lines will continue to focus on developing and upgrading its fleet, mainly investing in modern ships with large ship sizes to increase the ability to operate flexibly on domestic seas and international programs.
After successful reception, the HAIAN GAMA was leased to Denmark’s Maersk shipping company for a T/C to operation in the route Port Said (Egypt) – Mersin (TNK) – Port Said (Egypt). Update).This is also the premise for Hai An’s market expansion and development in the future.
