On July 15, 2025, at Yeosu anchorage (South Korea), VIMC Shipping Company (VIMC Shipping) – a member unit of Vietnam Maritime Corporation – officially received the VIMC BRIGHT, a modern Supramax-sized bulk carrier chartered on a long-term bareboat basis. This event continues to mark a new development step in VIMC Shipping’s strategy to improve transportation capacity and rejuvenate the fleet.
VIMC BRIGHT, formerly named Imke Selmer, is a Supramax-sized bulk carrier with a tonnage of approximately 56,000 DWT, designed to operate efficiently on international maritime routes. The ship has a solid structure, saves fuel and meets current environmental standards – in line with the green shipping trend that is gaining increasing attention globally.
VIMC BRIGHT’s operation is part of VIMC Shipping’s fleet development plan in a professional, environmentally friendly and optimized operating cost manner. With the ability to carry diverse cargoes such as coal, clinker, fertilizer, grain or light ore, the VIMC BRIGHT will help improve flexibility in market exploitation and better meet the needs of domestic and international customers.
