On April 23, 2025, in Singapore, Vietnam Ocean Shipping Joint Stock Company (VOSCO) officially received the bulk cargo ship VOSCO Sunlight (formerly named Teleri-M). This continues to be an important step in VOSCO’s strategy to expand the fleet and improve transport capacity in 2025.
VOSCO Sunlight is a Supramax-sized bulk carrier, tonnage of 55,851 DWT, built in 2013 in Japan, with a technical condition that meets the requirements for unlimited exploitation on international routes, helping the VOSCO to be more flexible in exploiting new and more efficient transport routes.
The reception of VOSCO Sunlight is part of the largest fleet expansion plan in VOSCO’s history, marking the Company’s strong return after more than a decade of not investing in new ships. In early 2025, VOSCO also received delivery of the VOSCO Starlight, 55,868 DWT built in 2011 in Japan.
Following the Supramax-sized bulk cargo ship projects – in 2025, VOSCO is expected to deploy other large investment projects including investing in new construction or resale or buying used ships of Ultramax-sized bulk cargo ships with a tonnage of about 66,000 DWT, MR-sized oil product tanker with a tonnage of about 50,000 DWT and container ships of more than 1,000 TEUs.
