Continuing to implement the strategy of diversifying the fleet and expanding international markets, on September 4, 2024, PetroVietnam Transport Joint Stock Corporation (PVTrans) completed the delivery of the Supramax – MV. PVT Topaz in Yeosu, Korea.
The MV. PVT Topaz tonnage of 57,318 DWT, built in 2009 in Korea with modern design and optimal technical conditions, ensuring full compliance with the strict standards of the shipping industry.
Immediately after receiving the handover, Phuong Dong Viet Transport and Logistics Joint Stock Company (PVT Logistics) – a member unit of PetroVietnam Transport Joint Stock Corporation (PVTrans) signed a contract to put the PVT Topaz ship into operation. The first shipment carried 40,000 tons of finished iron and steel products from China to the Philippines.
PVT Logistics is a subsidiary of PVTrans that owns and operates a modern fleet, including chemical, petroleum and bulk cargo ships. PVT Logistics’ fleet has been approved for transportation by large and demanding customers such as Chevron, Exxon, BP, Shell, Trafigura, Glencore and markets with high transportation requirements such as the US and Europe. After receiving the Supramax PVT Topaz ship, PVT Logistics also completed the sale of the PVT Synergy ship. This asset restructuring is part of the production and business plan approved by the Company’s General Meeting of Shareholders to create capital to invest in suitable projects, bringing better business efficiency to PVT Logistics in the future.
