Recently Jun 18, 2025 at Zeebrugge port (Kingdom of Belgium), Gas Shipping Company – a member unit of PetroVietnam Transport Joint Stock Corporation (PVTrans) officially received the liquefied gas tanker Phoenix Gas and put it into operation in the LPG fleet.
Phoenix Gas is an LPG tanker built in Japan in 2011, with a carrying capacity of about 5,000 CBM, fully meeting the strict technical standards of the international maritime industry, as well as strict safety requirements from global customers. Immediately after receiving, the ship was put into operation in the European market – a market rich in potential but with very high requirements for service quality and operating standards. The fact that Phoenix Gas is accepted by this demanding market also shows the ability to manage and operate ships methodically and the reputation of the PVTrans brand in the international market.
As of June 2025, receiving Phoenix Gas has increased the number of PVTrans’s LPG vessels to 19, in a fleet structure of 59 vessels with a total tonnage of more than 1.7 million DWT, thereby firmly strengthening the Corporation’s liquefied gas transportation capacity. In the context that energy demand in many Asian and European countries remains stable, the LPG transportation market by coaster-sized ships continues to be positively evaluated. Analytical organizations such as FGE and Argus believe that the long-term LPG market is still promising thanks to the recovery in output and consumer demand. This is the basis for PVTrans to steadfastly develop its LPG fleet in parallel with crude oil, product oil and chemical vessels, aiming for sustainable growth and optimal fleet exploitation efficiency ./.
