On December 24th, in Hai Phong city, the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (SBIC) and Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Company successfully launched the second 65,000 DWT cargo ship in a series of four, named Truong Minh Dream 02 (design code VB66-02), for the shipowner, Dong Bac Shipbuilding Industry Joint Stock Company.
The bulk carrier Truong Minh Dream 02, with a deadweight tonnage of 65,000 DWT, is 200m long, 32.26m wide, and has a design draft of 11.3m. It is equipped with a MAN B&W Licensee 6S50ME-C9.7-HPSCR main engine and a gross tonnage of 35,823 GT. The vessel is equipped with modern equipment, complying with the latest international maritime conventions, and can operate in all international waters, as well as meeting the most stringent environmental requirements of all seaports worldwide. The vessel was designed by a joint venture between Vietnam Shipbuilding Engineering Corporation (VISEC) and Bluetech (Finland), and constructed by Nam Trieu under the supervision and classification of the NK Classification Society (Japan) and VR Classification Society (Vietnam).
